Seeking a position for company who needs a sourcing specialist in China
Position description:
- Located in Guangzhou, China. both full time/part time are to be considered
- Source finished goods for the Company to secure the highest quality product and services at the most competitive price
- Evaluate potential suppliers in terms of capabilities, costs, quality, reliability and technical support
- Can work closely and support New Product Development, Quality, Marketing, and Supply Chain in terms of total cost, supplier selection, product availability, supplier assessment and social compliance
- Negotiate directly with Finished Good suppliers in terms of cost reductions, lead time improvement, vendor managed programs, etc.
- Attend meetings, trade shows, or conferences to learn new industry trends and make contact with suppliers
- Track price trends, exchange rates, and market / industry conditions
- Communicate to the cross-function team in terms of supplier issues, quality, and delays
- Effective negotiations, supplier selection, and on-time delivery of the approved project / product / plan
Qualifications:
- College degree
- 8 years of progressive sourcing experience
- 5 years working for a UK company and 1 year for a US company.
Capabilities:
- Excellent English and Chinese communications skills and Ability to influence others through use of clear and concise communications, both written and oral
- Flexible schedule and ability to travel
- Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
